Bosnian Madrasa Students Become Digital Leaders with AI and Media Literacy Training

More than 150 students from seven madrasas in Bosnia and Herzegovina finished a nine-month program. The education covered artificial intelligence (AI) and media literacy. Students learned to spot false information, judge facts carefully, and use new technologies well.

The final event was in Banja Luka. Students showed their projects and received certificates. Their teachers also got certificates. The project, called "AI and Media Literacy for the Future," was run by the Rijaset of the Islamic Community with the European Union and the European External Action Service.

Medina Mehmedović-Mulalić from the Rijaset said the project wanted madrasa students to become digital leaders. This means young people who understand and use technology wisely. Muftija Smajlović was pleased Banja Luka hosted the ceremony. He spoke about keeping moral values and respect alongside new technology.

Student Muaz Čehajić from Visoko presented his team's Čajangrad project. He noted the program boosted his AI knowledge. The program began in Mostar on January 15. Project Manager Melika Arifhodžić mentioned this was the fifth EU-supported project. It falls under the "My Place in the EU" platform. Various officials, including Haris Avdić Pejičić, Melika Arifhodžić, Dr. Medina Mehmedović-Mulalić, and Seid-ef. Eminović, handed out the certificates.
