Grand Mufti Kavazovic Urges Unity and Moral Values at Mosque Reopening in Orahovica
Reisul-ulema Husein Kavazovic attended the opening ceremony of the renovated mosque in Orahovica near Zenica. He called on believers to carry the unity from mosque prayer rows into their daily lives. He urged them to strengthen family ties and care for their neighbors. He also reminded the community to preserve strong moral values. Kavazovic explained that the renewal of a mosque is not merely a construction project. It represents the renewal of the spiritual bond with God and confirms the strength of the community.
During his address, the Grand Mufti emphasized that true faith must produce good deeds. He stated that religious belief without morality remains an empty theory. In the prayer rows, all differences in wealth, social rank, and origin disappear. All people stand equal before the Creator. Kavazovic stressed that this spirit of equality must continue outside the mosque walls. A person's faith is proven through honesty, justice, and compassion toward the weak.
Kavazovic also discussed the difficulties of modern life. Technological progress brings many benefits, but it also brings spiritual tests. Modern society frequently struggles with arrogance, selfishness, and a lack of empathy. In such unstable times, moral principles provide a firm compass. He stated that being modern does not mean abandoning tradition. Instead, people should practice timeless moral values within today's circumstances.
The religious leader placed special focus on raising youth. Young people need depth, guidance, and moral shelter rather than temporary pleasures. He encouraged parents to teach their children humility and patience. The mosque must remain a center of learning and a safe haven for future generations.
At the end of his address, Kavazovic thanked Dr. Suvad Isakovic and his wife. They served as the main benefactors for the renovation project. He also thanked the local committee, the imam, and all donors from home and abroad. He praised their efforts as a model of using wealth and knowledge for the common good.
