Security Guard Dismissed After Social Media Post Glorifying War Criminal

A security guard named Milenko Parović from Nevesinje has lost his job. He worked for the SEC ONE agency in Mostar. Parović recently posted a picture of Ratko Mladić on social media. Mladić is a convicted war criminal and was found guilty of genocide. Parović's post included an emotional message.

The Facebook page "Zaštitari BiH/Novosti/Konkursi" shared Parović's post. They asked if he would face consequences for "glorifying a criminal." Administrators urged users to report similar cases of security guards who "spit on victims of genocide." Many users reacted strongly to Parović's post. They called for SEC ONE to investigate and take action. Some of Parović's colleagues also demanded sanctions.

SEC ONE responded to media inquiries. The agency confirmed that Milenko Parović is no longer working for them. His employee status will officially end after a 15-day notice period, as required by law. SEC ONE stated it applies high ethical standards in its operations. The agency fully respects all Bosnian-Herzegovinian laws, international rules, and decisions from relevant institutions.

Other agencies also reported that Parović lost his job in Mostar because of the photo. Parović stated he was contacted and offered a mutual termination. He explained that "paternal empathy" prompted him to share the picture. "I shared a photo of General Mladić and his late daughter because it touched me as a father, without intending to offend anyone's victims," Parović claimed.
