Cazin Marks Anniversary of Prijedor Genocide

Every May 31st, Cazin commemorates the 1992 Prijedor genocide against non-Serb residents. Killings and persecution started in Prijedor in May 1992, before other war events. Cazin refuses to forget, actively fighting against ongoing denial of these crimes. Perpetrators often deny victims, evidence, and court verdicts. Cazin Mayor Nermin Ogrešević stated this denial strengthens their commitment to truth, memory, and vigilance. He emphasized that past events have taught important lessons.
