Srebrenica Mothers' Group Disavows Unofficial Social Media Account

The 'Movement Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves' has publicly warned about an X social media profile. The profile, named 'Majke Srebrenice,' is not their official account. Association President Munira Subašić first warned of this on October 18, 2023. She asked media not to use her photo with posts from that profile. This prevents false impressions of authorship.

The problem continues. Unknown administrators use the name 'Majke Srebrenice' and photos of Munira Subašić and other members. They publish political views. The association states that neither Subašić nor their movement creates these posts. The X profile is not official.

The association urges administrators to stop misleadingly using their photos. They plan legal action for these abuses. They emphasized Srebrenica, genocide victims, and surviving mothers must not be used for political activity. They advised media and social media users to verify sources before sharing posts from the unofficial profile.
