Three Bosniak-American Women Pass US Bar Exam on the Same Day
Many Bosniaks from Plav and Gusinje left their homeland due to war and economic crisis. They moved to the United States and settled in New York and nearby areas. These immigrants faced many challenges. They learned a new language and took hard jobs to provide for their families. Their biggest priority was always the education of their children.
That investment has now produced great results. Three young Bosniak women born in the United States recently passed their law and bar examinations on the same day with high honors. These new lawyers are Shayla Šiljković, Amina Cecunjanin Musić, and Lejla Čekić. All three have family roots in the Plav and Gusinje region.
Their achievement brings pride to their families and the broader community. Becoming lawyers allows these women to protect human rights and support the rule of law. Their parents worked hard, and their sacrifices paid off. Shayla, Amina, and Lejla now stand as role models for younger generations.
