Sarajevo Conference Calls for the Protection of Children in War
Aida Kamber was eleven years old during the siege of Sarajevo. Today, her book connects her childhood memories with a call to protect children. The association Most prijateljstva – Sejdia will host a conference at Europe House in Sarajevo.
The conference addresses what the siege of Sarajevo teaches us about helping children in today's conflicts. It focuses on the responsibility of international institutions. It also explores the role of mothers in family survival and links Bosnia and Herzegovina with Italy through peacebuilding.
Italian Senator Francesca Tubetti, Sarajevo Mayor Samir Avdic, and Father Marco Eugenio Brusutti are among the key speakers. Organizers invite the public and media to listen to stories of children affected by war.
