Montenegrin Parliament Hosts Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Exhibition

An exhibition titled "Stories from Srebrenica" has opened for the first time in the Parliament of Montenegro in Podgorica. This event marks July 11, the International Day of Remembrance for the Srebrenica genocide.
The Civic Alliance, the Parliament of Montenegro, and the Srebrenica Memorial Center partnered to present the exhibition. Mirsad Nurković, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, officially opened it. He stated that the Srebrenica genocide represents a moral defeat for humanity and the biggest crime in Europe since World War II. Nurković emphasized the importance of a culture of remembrance for future generations.
Montenegro's Minister of Justice, Bojan Božović, also addressed the audience. He highlighted that Montenegro previously adopted a Resolution on the Srebrenica Genocide. This demonstrates the country's dedication to honoring victims and opposing genocide denial. Božović affirmed that Montenegro stands for truth, justice, and reconciliation. The exhibition is part of activities marking 31 years since the genocide, promoting remembrance for a society built on peace and human rights.
