Sarajevo Prepares for Funeral of Former Yugoslav Leader Raif Dizdarević
Raif Dizdarević, a prominent Bosnian politician and former President of the Presidency of Yugoslavia, has died. He passed away in Sarajevo on September 2nd at the age of 100.
His funeral is scheduled for September 8th at 5 PM at the City Cemetery Lav in Sarajevo. Family, friends, and former colleagues will gather to pay their respects to the long-serving official.
Dizdarević was born in Fojnica in 1926. His family was deeply involved in the anti-fascist movement, and three of his brothers died during World War II. After the war, he held many high-ranking positions throughout Yugoslavia, most notably as head of the SFRY Presidency.
