Sarajevo Commemorates 35 Years of Police Defense
Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted a special event today. Thousands of citizens gathered for the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina's reserve police force mobilization. The event's slogan was "From the first call to the defense of the state."
A parade began at 2 PM at the Eternal Flame. Police members, cadets, and war veterans from the 1991-1995 police force marched. Citizens loudly applauded the veterans, honoring their early defense of the country. The day was full of respect for past war years and pride in current state institutions.
The celebration concluded with a formal academy and a music program. Performers included the Sarajevo Philharmonic, the Choir of the National Theatre Opera Sarajevo, and soloists Mustafa Čizmić Čizma, Tarik Mulaomerović, and Ivica Šarić. This anniversary highlighted the strong link between veteran police, current officers, young cadets, and proud citizens.
